Universal Balance

Yesterday ....I was the kind of asshole who knowingly ripped open a magazine that didn't belong to me and then fixed a nice cup of tea. 

Today.... I will balance out yesterday's transgression by allowing one car to merge into my lane when they clearly knew the lane ended 500 feet ago.

The perfection of three … or so it’s said, that when things go in groups of three it is a fortuitous event or occurrence. OK, I offer you my triumvirate …

1.      Parenting a young adult with Asperger

2.     Navigating marriage

3.     Menopause

Good. Times.

That last snarky-toned remark really isn’t very fair because honestly none of the three listed are anywhere near as dramatic as I make them out to be during my internal dialogues. However, they all represent why my sometimes laughter of late comes out a bit strained or slightly off the rails.

Interesting POV Side Note: Maybe the three as fortuitous event or occurrence is completely fictional made up by someone who is trying to convince themselves that their three whatevers don't completely suck.

Today marks day 7 of my new job .... Hello learning curve! Moving from comfortable function as Ms. Go To ain't easy one little bit.... I have to keep reminding myself to slow down & LEARN THE PROCESS!

Yes, Virginia, there is such a thing as a stupid question.

One of the biggest fallacies seems to be the belief that there is no such thing as a stupid question. Oh how I beg to differ…. In the past I have reasoned with my inner voice mumbling dissent by saying the only stupid question is “Am I my brother’s keeper?”  …But really there are not only stupid questions but a lot of them! Please note this is not to be lumped in with the assumption that there are only blithely unaware / unintelligent askers or the lazy love to not know kind of question in efforts to support maintained ignorance…. No, this is in its own perplexing class of questioning that continues to infuriate and boggle.

 Perhaps in the future I should simply answer with the traditional “Bless your heart” and move on ….

Calling Bullshit on Pinterest

OK I will begin this by confessing that I just have spent a lifetime total of about 15 minutes on Pinterest but that in no way takes the wind of validity out of what I am going to blow on about ….  

I have a hard time with Pinterest … I honestly don’t really get the appeal. Does it just create another opportunity for women/mothers to feel like crap about what they aren’t doing or …. honestly I'm at a loss for what could be said next in its defense.  This opinion was brought about by the all too often echoed comment that “nothing ever turns out the way it looks on Pinterest” ….so you can surly see where my doubt resides…. Thoughts?
